Madeira in 6 Days: Funchal, Levadas and Peaks Above the Clouds

Six days of hiking in Madeira with a rental car: sunrise at Pico do Arieiro, Levada Caldeirão Verde and its tunnels, 25 Fontes in Rabaçal, the natural pools of Porto Moniz and the Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula. In the evenings we return to Funchal for espetada and poncha in the old quarter.

Four days in Budapest, mostly on foot and by public transport: a tour of the Parliament building, the Dohány Street Synagogue and the Jewish Quarter, Castle Hill and the Fisherman's Bastion, an evening cruise on the Danube and a morning at Széchenyi Baths. Along the way, stop for a langos at the Great Market Hall and sit at a ruin bar.
